Southwest Survey Engineering, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, why we collect it, who else can see it, and how long we keep it. We have written it in plain language because you should not need a lawyer to understand what happens to your information.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, phone number, and message you enter. We ask for these because we cannot respond to a survey enquiry without a way to reach you and a description of the property or service you need. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information such as financial account numbers or government identification numbers through this form.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested, including IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. We also use Google Analytics, described in section 4, to understand how the site is used.

What we do not collect. We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect payment information through this website. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not build advertising profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information from the contact form for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to carry out the survey work you have asked for. We use automatically collected information to keep the site running, to protect the contact form from automated abuse, and to understand which pages people find useful.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share it for anyone else’s marketing purposes. We will not add you to a marketing list because you used the contact form.

3. Who Else Sees Your Information

We use a small number of third-party services to operate this site. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job:

Resend delivers contact form submissions to our office inbox as email. It processes the name, email address, phone number, and message you submitted.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks that contact form submissions come from a person rather than an automated script. It receives your IP address and basic browser signals. It does not set tracking cookies and does not profile you across websites.

Google Analytics measures site usage. See section 4.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

4. Cookies and Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors find and move through the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information including your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view, and how long you spend on them. Your IP address is used by Google to derive an approximate location and is not stored by Google Analytics in its raw form.

We use this information in aggregate to decide what to improve. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with information from the contact form.

You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by using your browser’s settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking these cookies does not affect your ability to use any part of this site, including the contact form.

Aside from Google Analytics, this site sets only the cookies needed for it to work, such as remembering whether you have chosen light or dark mode. We do not use advertising cookies.

5. How Long We Keep It

Contact form submissions arrive as email and are retained in our business records for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and to meet our professional and legal record keeping obligations as a licensed surveying firm. Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in our Google Analytics property.

6. Security

Contact form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. We limit access to enquiry emails to the staff who need them to do their work. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do not store contact form submissions in any database on this website.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us using the details in section 10 and we will respond. If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights under that law, and we will honour them.

The simplest choice is always available to you: do not submit the contact form. You can reach us by telephone at (269) 657-6037 instead.

8. Children

This site is intended for property owners, lenders, and professionals engaging surveying services. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
